After the interest rate ended in early September, the real estate market seemed to be starting to sort itself out like other homes, even those with million dollar price tags and a long list of amenities, sold for asking price or less.
In Central Jersey, home buyers found everything from a new family home in Summit to a stone fort on six acres in Readington.
Here are the most expensive real estate sales in every Central Jersey county in September.
Union County: A $2,597 Summit colonists under 10 years old
The nine-year-old Summit home sold for $2.597 million on Sept. 18, offering a beautiful family home at 248 Woodland Ave.
With six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, this large colonial in the Canoe Brook Golf Course area has a balcony, two stories, a gas fireplace, a three-car garage, a back yard with a balcony, and a master bedroom with its own living room.
Even the basement is full of amenities, with a bedroom, bathroom, exercise room, living room, and extra room.
The home, listed by Kim Cannon with Prominent Properties, sold for $2,000 above asking after being listed in late July. Ten years ago, it sold for just $535,000.
Hunterdon County: A $2.05 million stone home in Readington
A country house made of hand-hewn stone blocks became a Readington stronghold for its owners when it sold for $2.05 million on Sept. 20 due to Robert Beatty with Weichert, Realtors.
The four-bedroom, six-bedroom home on six acres at 57 Dreahook Road is surrounded by woods and offers sweeping views from its open-plan living room, stone-walled porch, and sunroom with additional storage space.
It also features a kitchen with white pine cabinets and black granite countertops, a library with cathedral ceilings, balconies in every room, an entertainment area, four fireplaces, and a four-car garage.
This stunning home sold for $300,000 less than it was listed for in June. Built in 2004, the home was last sold for $2.38 million in 2020.

Somerset County: England property $2.775 million in Bernardsville
The English country estate at 7 Stevens Road in Bernardsville brought a mix of old and new when it sold for $2.775 million on Sept. 20 represented by Carolyn Fahey of Fahey Realtors.
Completely renovated last year, it has classic charm and modern amenities, set on six acres on a private road.
Behind its cement façade, this place has six bedrooms and 6 ½ bathrooms, but the best part of the house is the retreat. The house has a large yard with a fireplace, and a pool surrounded by landscaped gardens.
But despite its beauty, the house spent a long time on the market, since it was first listed in January for another $ 130,000. Sellers spent four months here, buying in September 2023 $75,000 more than they sold.
Middlesex County: $1,695 Beautiful home in Plainsboro with a great location
A beautiful home surrounded by lush greenery in Plainsboro offered privacy and a central location when it sold for $1.695 million on September 16.
Located at 9 Hilltown Court, the building is minutes from the Princeton Junction train station, Princeton University, Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center, and Whole Foods.
It has five bedrooms and four bathrooms spread over approximately 4,000 square feet.
The home sold for about $30,000 above when it was listed in late July by Kavitha Gangavarapu from myOriginHomes Group of Keller Williams Princeton. Before that, it last sold for about $485,000 in 1999.
